Thorn Field.

Grove City opened the game with a 15-play, 60-yard drive but came away scoreless as Thomas More deflected a 30-yard field goal attempt by sophomore kicker Craig Bicehouse. Thomas More then countered with an 11-play, 80-yard drive that resulted in a 31-yard touchdown pass from Trevor Stellman to Nick Dew.

In the second quarter, Thomas More tailback Kendall Owens scored on touchdown runs of 16 and 74 yards, respectively, to put the Saints up 21-0. Stellman's nine-yard touchdown run with 1:11 left in the half gave Thomas More a 28-0 halftime lead.

Grove City broke through on its first drive of the second half as senior tailback Brian Mercer bulled into the end zone from four yards out. Mercer helped ignited the drive with a 26-yard run. The point after touchdown failed and Thomas More's lead remained 28-6 with 10:36 left in the third quarter.

Thomas More extended the lead to 35-6 with 7:37 left as fullback Anthony Knott picked up teammate Cordario Collier's fumble at the 1 and took it into the end zone for a touchdown.

Grove City answered with a 13-play, 58-yard drive that culminated in a four-yard touchdown pass from junior quarterback Andrew DiDonato to senior wide receiver Stephen Mercer. DiDonato then threw the two-point conversion pass to Stephen Mercer.

DiDonato finished the day 28 of 39 passing for 174 yards.

My name is Kevin Olthaus and I have a brother that will be starting his football career at TMC in the fall. I am part owner of a westside bar, The Scorebard Sports Bar, and I will be setting up travel accomodations to all home and away games throughout the 2008 season from the bar on Saturdays. With my crew of family and friends, we'll have enough people to fill at least 1/2 of a bus each and every week. I have contacts that will facilitate us receiving a formidable deal on the transportation every week. I can provide all of the proper tailgating needs and I'm looking to price it out to see what the final cost would be for all of us. Everyone has an open invitation to contact me should you want to take advantage of this way of travel. Even with the home games, it makes sense for our group to travel together with no worries. Should anyone be interested, contact me at kolthaus@usbankarena.com and I will add you and your party to our travel list.

We look to have a great season and do our part in making a presence at each and every TMC football game for many years to come.

Thanks-
Kevin

__________________
For more information call 513-941-4200 and ask for Nikki...
Thanks from all the folks at Scoreboard Sports Bar!

Forum: 2008 Travel and Tailgate Threads
